Using Public Domain Products For Making Money Online
from: Alexander GordonThe vast pool of information available in the public domain might scare you like any other interested user. So think about it, if you could convert this scary and large resource of information in a manner that it becomes easier for others to access and analyze, then your rewards for doing that could be exquisite.
But is this illegal? No! The government allows all information in the public domain to be repackaged and sold to whoever is interested. Such information is not guarded by the copyright laws and it includes works published before 1923 and, in some cases, before 1978.
The information present in the public domain can be sold off as it is or repackaged as per the interested party’s requirements. One can also convert the information present in some other form like from books to CD's and pass it off. Moreover, to add to the bargain, you can instead sell reprint rights of your work that anyways is picked up from the public domain. The buyers would be many. This information gathered from the public domain can also be deployed effectively to put a higher price on your original work. Interested parties
• Business houses that are in a constant look out for information from all sources would be happy to pay you for the desired information in an arranged manner. Their need to research and abide by various legal and compliance requirement mandates that they keep abreast of the latest and oldest in such areas which, considering their busy schedules, is a painstaking job. So why not let them relax a bit and arrange all they require for a price, which they would be more than happy to pay.
• Hollywood freaks: They are on a constant campaign for any information related to movies or songs. So just gather the happening, re-bundle it in a starry package, and present it to your audience.
• Students and educational institutes would be happy to pay you for collated information like case studies on specific topics and interesting subjects. You can also create small articles or reference materials from the information and present it to the mentioned group in regular parts rather than supplying all at ones. Create an interest level, see the popularity, and then cash on it.
• Researchers: would be happy to pay for your organized information if it can help attain the desired depth to their study material.
• Children can be easily amazed by colorful stories, games, and other fun offerings
• Housewives would be delighted to have all the cherished recipes on one page or think of the traditional dress collection.
The uses are ample and the success assured. All you need to do is deploy the information freely available in the category of public domain
I have a real concern with this one. Copyright law is not this simple. We make it sound like you can repackage anything and sell it as your own. This is not the case. A huge amount of information is in the public domain, but even more of the online presence is not. Suggest either killing this article or reworking it substantially. I’m not sure that the intended audience would be interested in a dry treatise on copyright law, yet that is what we need to make clear who can sell what to whom without breaking the law.
